Full 450h Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program

Pilates & Yoga Styles offers a full 450-hr comprehensive teacher training program lead by founder Linda Newman. Linda has been teaching for more than 28 years and continues to share her passion for this amazing fitness movement through her teacher trainings. Included in the 450-hr training are Mat Level I & II. If you are interested in signing up for this separately the next course will be held in Bali, April 03 – 10, 2017.

During the course we will cover the Pilates exercises and different pieces of equipment in great detail. Students will also be able to utilise the Pilates & Yoga Styles studio for many of their observation hours, self practice and student teaching. Our goal is to leave you with the skills to accurately assess each client and provide the Pilates training needed to accomplish their individual fitness goals. The knowledge to train clients with the Pilates method at any fitness level or with any physical limitation is learned through our 450-hr Comprehensive Teacher Training. Truly teaching the body in front of you takes confidence and great knowledge. Upon completing this teacher training you will be able to take the PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) exam. Continuing education credits will be offered through the internationally recognized organization all year long. Pilates & Yoga Styles will also offer CEC’s throughout the year approved by the PMA.

Pilates Training Modules

Pilates Anatomy

Anatomy & Movement Principles

Includes an intro to the the primary muscles involved in movement. Specifically geared toward Pilates teachers. Training includes covering exercises with specific reference to the muscles and joints allowing you to understand the information more effectively.

Mat Pilates Level 1

Mat I - Intro to Pilates Beginning/Intermediate Exercises

Mat I includes an introduction to the history and principles of Pilates, beginning exercises and introduction to intermediate level exercises with modifications. An overview of anatomy and movement principles is covered with this course.

Pilates Teacher Training

Mat II
Intermediate/Advanced Exercises

Mat II includes the remaining intermediate and advanced level exercises as well as use of props for advancing clients or providing appropriate modifications.

Pilates Back Bend

Mat III Intermediate/Advanced exercises

Mat III includes more intermediate and advanced level exercises as well as use of props for advancing clients or providing appropriate modifications. With this training the final Mat exercises are covered so that all original Pilates Mat repetoire movements are learned

Pilates Reformer

Reformer I & II

Reformer I & II includes an introduction to the Pilates Reformer, beginning and intermediate exercises, session sequencing and teaching cues for group classes. Modifications designed for group and individual instruction are covered as well as technique for teaching clients at different levels of ability.

Chair Pilates

Chair

Includes exercises and variations for both private training sessions and classes. Covers multiple exercises on this very adaptable Pilates piece of equipment.

Ladder Barrel

Includes an introduction to the Ladder Barrel exercises and a series of exercises and stretches performed on this apparatus.

Caddilac Pilates

Cadillac/Tower

Provides a thorough introduction to Cadillac/Tower exercises. Equipment set up, safety and maintenance is covered as well as how to incorporate the exercises into a clients session. This training is appropriate for learning Trapeze Table, tower or wall unit exercises.

Barre Standing Pilates

Barre- Standing Pilates

Elective
This Pilates based Barre training emphasizes the correct bio mechanics of movement to increase strength, flexibility and stability. It is a program geared for all movement teachers, no dance experience required.

Requirements

Requirements for Completion of the 450-hr Training

To become a fully trained Pilates Instructor, students must complete the selected requirements. Upon completion of all the requirements, a certificate of completion will be issued.

  • Anatomy & Movement Science: includes structural & movement analysis as well as injuries & conditions
  • Pilates Philosophy, History, & Code of Ethics
  • Mat Instructor training: Exercises,course work, written & practical test
  • Reformer Instructor training: Exercises, course work, written & practical test
  • Cadillac/Tower: Exercises, course work, written & practical test
  • Chair: Exercises, course work, written & practical test
  • 75 self practice hours, 115 student teaching hours, 75 Observation Hours. 20 observation hours for each module
  • Final exam upon completion

Refund Policy

How to proceed with registration?

Refunds are given only if cancellation is received 90 days prior to the course start date that the applicant has applied to. The deposit is non-refundable.

Tuition payments made prior to the course start will be refunded if cancellation meets the above requirements. Any tuition paid is NOT refundable once the course has begun. A Non Refundable Deposit of $500 is due with registration to reserve your spot.
